When the road is blocked by a landslide during a raging storm, a vanload of shapely showgirls and their manager are obliged to spend the night at Count Gabor Kernassy’s remote ancestral pile. Little do they know, however, that the Count’s 200 year-old antecedent and deadly double, a baleful blood drinker, is prowling the castle corridors in search of one last fling. Soon the playgirls find themselves stripping nude for a killer from beyond the grave! To make matters worse, Vera, the dance troupe’s loveliest member, turns out to be the reincarnation of Margherita, the naughty Nosferatu’s long lost love! Will Gabor manage to rescue Vera from the clutches of this horrible sexy vampire, or will she be trapped for eternity in a fiendish flesh and blood show with the undead?

Written and directed by Piero Regnoli, whose screenwriting credits include such shockers as THE VAMPIRES, NIGHTMARE CITY and BURIAL GROUND, it stars Italian genre stalwarts Walter Brandi (THE VAMPIRE AND THE BALLERINA, BLOODY PIT OF HORROR) and Alfredo Rizzo (TERROR CREATURES FROM THE GRAVE, THE BEAST IN HEAT). Ultra-glamorous eye candy is provided by Lyla Rocco in the role of Vera, and Maria Giovannini as Katya, the first nude vampire in horror film history!

A symphony of shudders and shorty nighties, THE PLAYGIRLS AND THE VAMPIRE is an early example of Euro-exploitation, and came in the wake of the surprise Italian success of Hammer’s DRACULA (1958). This splendid release from Nucleus Films will have you doing high kicks in the Halls of Horror!
